About Me

My name is Benson, I arrived back into the rescue in November 2020 as my adoptive owner had a change of circumstance. Originally I was born within the rescue.

I am a loving and affectionate boy, although I can struggle with new environment and people. I’m timid at first, and I can get stressed easily. However once you gain my confidence, I’ll be your best friend! I love cuddles, especially in bed.

I am lively, inquisitive, and very smart. Playing is my favourite thing, my best toy is a feather teaser – as I can pounce on it, and show off my jumping skills. I love to sit on the window to watch the birds, and to try to catch any flies that fly past.

I do have Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), so I must be kept on my special diet of Royal Canin Anallergentic dry food. This food was recommend by a specialist vet who preformed my ultrasound scan. Whilst having my ultrasound, a small cyst was noticed on one of my kidneys. I have previously had blood tests, which showed normal. So I had a urine sample collected and it was sent for testing – which also showed normal. Sadly not too long ago I received news that my brother was diagnosed with PKD, which is an inherited illness. I am currently fine, but my IBD will need monitoring, along with any signs of issues with my kidneys.

Ideally I am looking for an adoptive home, however the rescue is willing to discuss long term foster due to my medical needs. If my medical issue is of concern, but you are interested in offering me a home, please add that to your application.

I am looking for an understanding home, without any other pets or children, and someone who will monitor and upkeep my IBD. I must be kept indoors, as I have never been outside (so I won’t have road sence), and due to my medical needs. However in the future, I may also love a catio, so I can have safe access outside in an controlled environment
